About Dunlopillo

Dunlopillo is one of the world’s most iconic bedding brands, credited with inventing latex foam in 1929. For nearly a century, the brand has been the undisputed leader in latex technology, offering superior sleep solutions that combine enduring support with natural breathability. In Australia, Dunlopillo is renowned for its premium range of pillows and mattresses, including the famous Luxurious Latex collection and the pressure-relieving Therapillo™ memory foam range.

Dunlopillo products are distinguished by their ability to retain their shape and resilience for years, a quality that has earned them the exclusive endorsement of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). Whether you prefer the instant bounce-back of Talalay latex or the contouring "melt-in" feel of memory foam, Dunlopillo provides a personalized sleep experience designed to align the spine and alleviate muscle tension.

Mission, Vision & Innovation

Dunlopillo’s mission is to "create special moments" by ensuring that every customer wakes up refreshed and revitalized. Their vision is to be the "Customer Champion" in the bedding industry, operating on the belief that "the better your nights, the better your days." Innovation is the very foundation of the company; it began when Dunlop scientist Mr. E.A. Murphy invented the first latex foam, changing the way the world sleeps.

Today, that spirit of innovation continues with the use of the Talalay Latex process, which creates a consistent, open-cell structure for maximum airflow and hygiene. Recent advancements also include the integration of Cooling Gel and Copper-infused foams in their Therapillo™ range to actively regulate body temperature, addressing the common issue of overheating during sleep.

Sleep Solutions is NDIS Registered and Approved

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Luxurious Latex and Therapillo™ ranges?

The Luxurious Latex range is made from natural rubber latex (often Talalay). It has an instant "bounce-back" feel, is naturally breathable, and offers firm, long-lasting support. The Therapillo™ range is made from premium memory foam. It has a slower recovery time and molds to the exact shape of your head and neck, providing excellent pressure relief and a "sink-in" sensation rather than the "floating" sensation of latex.

How do I know which profile (High or Medium) to choose?

Dunlopillo pillows are categorized by profile (height) to suit different body frames and sleep positions.

  • High Profile: Best for side sleepers and those with larger frames who need to fill the gap between the ear and the mattress.
  • Medium Profile: Ideal for back sleepers or side sleepers with a medium/smaller body frame.
  • Low Profile: Generally recommended for stomach sleepers to prevent neck strain.
Why is the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) endorsement important?

Dunlopillo is the only pillow brand endorsed by the APA. This means their products have been reviewed and approved in consultation with physiotherapists to ensure they provide ergonomically correct support. It gives customers peace of mind that the pillow will help promote proper spinal alignment and reduce neck pain.

Are Dunlopillo products suitable for allergy sufferers?

Yes. Dunlopillo Latex is inherently hypoallergenic, anti-microbial, and resistant to dust mites, mold, and mildew. Furthermore, many of their pillows (both latex and memory foam) are treated with Ultra-Fresh, an antimicrobial treatment that further inhibits bacterial growth, making them a safe choice for asthma and allergy sufferers.

Can I wash my Dunlopillo latex pillow?

No, you should never machine wash or soak the latex or memory foam core itself, as this can break down the cellular structure and ruin the support. If the pillow core gets dirty, spot clean it gently with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then air dry in the shade (avoid direct sunlight). However, the removable cotton or velour covers provided with the pillows are fully machine washable.
