About Cabeau

Cabeau is a world-renowned leader in travel comfort, celebrated for reinventing the travel pillow and setting a new industry standard for ergonomic support. Founded in 2009 by David Sternlight, a former pro basketball scout who was tired of the physical toll of constant travel, Cabeau set out to solve the "bobblehead" problem—the head-dropping discomfort that plagues travelers worldwide. Today, Cabeau is the number one choice for frequent flyers, available in over 110 countries.

The brand’s flagship product, the Evolution® Pillow, discarded the ineffective "U-shape" beanbag design of the past in favor of high-quality memory foam with raised side supports. Beyond pillows, Cabeau offers a suite of innovative accessories, including the adjustable Midnight Magic® Sleep Mask and compression socks, all designed to ensure that travelers arrive at their destination rested, refreshed, and ready to go.

Mission, Vision & Innovation

Cabeau’s mission is bold and simple: to "End Travel Misery." They vision a world where long-haul travel is no longer associated with pain or stiffness, but rather with restoration. This drive for comfort fuels their relentless innovation. Cabeau is best known for its patented Seat Strap System (S3), a game-changing feature found in the Evolution S3® pillow. This system allows users to attach their pillow to the airplane seat wings, effectively preventing the head from falling forward or sideways during sleep.

Additionally, they have pioneered airflow technology with the Evolution Cool®, which features side vents and dual-density foam to prevent overheating—a common complaint with traditional memory foam. By combining medical-grade ergonomics with practical features like media pockets and compact travel cases, Cabeau continues to push the boundaries of portable comfort.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Seat Strap System (S3)?

The S3 is Cabeau’s signature innovation. It consists of two straps attached to the back of the Evolution S3® pillow that are designed to loop around the adjustable "wings" found on most airline headrests. This anchors the pillow in place, keeping your head upright and preventing the "head bob" that often wakes travelers up.

How do I pack my Cabeau pillow?

One of the best features of Cabeau pillows is their compressibility. Each pillow comes with a travel case. You can roll the memory foam pillow tightly (like a sleeping bag) and fit it into the case, reducing its size to about 1/4 of its original volume. This makes it easy to clip onto luggage or stow in a carry-on.

What is the difference between the Evolution Classic and the Evolution S3?

Both pillows use high-quality memory foam and feature the signature raised side supports. The main difference is that the Evolution S3 includes the Seat Strap System to attach to airline seats and uses a high-performance, quick-dry fabric. The Evolution Classic is the entry-level model; it provides the same ergonomic support but does not have the seat straps and uses a soft velour cover.

Is the Cabeau pillow cover washable?

Yes. All Cabeau neck pillows feature removable, machine-washable covers. Simply unzip the cover, remove the memory foam core, and wash the cover on a gentle cycle. Do not machine wash the memory foam core itself; if the foam gets dirty, spot clean it with a damp cloth.

Does the Midnight Magic Sleep Mask press on my eyes?

No. Similar to the Bucky 40 Blinks, the Cabeau Midnight Magic® Sleep Mask features an adjustable nose bridge and rounded inner eye cavities. This design allows you to blink freely and ensures the mask does not smudge makeup or put pressure on your eyelids, providing a blackout experience without the discomfort.
