Operating your Humidifier

Smart Mist Auto Mode

Auto Mode

AUTO mode is the default setting for the humidifier when turned on from standby. Auto mode can also be manually selected.

Health Mode

Health Mode

in HEALTH mode, the humidifier automatically adjust the mist intensity to maintain a relative humidity level of 60% and activates the WARM MIST feature.

Baby Mode

Baby Mode

In BABY mode, the humidifier automatically adjusts the mist intensity to maintain a relative humidity level of 55% and activates the WARM MIST feature.

Night Mode

In NIGHT mode, the humidifier turns off thelights, except the blue water tank light. The humidifier will operate in Auto mode

Care, Cleaning & Storage

Before cleaning, ensure the power is switched off and then remove the power plug from the power oulet.

Breville recommends

  • Only use cold water or distilled water in the water tank
  • Change the water often to keep it fresh.
  • Clean the transducer, water tank and water basin at a minimum of once every week when in constant use.
  • Use a small brush or a cotton swab to assist with cleaning the transducer and basin. Never use metal or sharp objects.
  • After cleaning, ensure all parts are completely dry before using the humidifier

Note:

  • Clean the whole humidifier and make sure that all parts are dried completely
  • Use a damp cloth only.
  • Do not immerse the unit in water..
  • Clean the transducer, water tank and basin at leastonce a week.

Works great
I have this running in our main living area, which is much greater that 40m2, but it's still made quite a difference. My sinuses are no longer dry, my skin actually feels a lot healthier and we're comfortable having the heater set to a lower temperature.

If running it most of the time, the manual says to clean it once a week and I can say that it's important to do so as it loses efficiency if you don't.

The only reason four stars is that turning on warm mist (which isn't really warm) makes it go through water quicker and have more trouble maintaining a steady humidity level. I see it jump between 55% an 70% when warm mist is on, whereas it's pretty steady around 60% when warm mist is off.

I've seen some other reviews talk about mist in the air like being in a swamp. We haven't had any experiences like that, with the only noticeable effect being condensation on the windows when it's very cold outside. We are using it in a large area though, and have seen some strange behaviour with warm mist, so if you need it for an area 30m2 or smaller, perhaps this one is not for you. (Posted on )

Have just moved from a humid tropical area to a dry inland area. My nose and sinuses are really suffering. Thought a humidifier would help me to sleep better but it hasn’t. (Posted on )
