How does the chinstrap help with snoring?

Chinstraps can help reduce snoring via two related mechanisms:

1. They encourage nose breathing - by exerting a constant pressure on your jaw, it's making it more difficult to open your mouth to breath and therefore training you to breath through your nose.

Breathing through your nose results in increasing the pressure in your windpipe when breathing, which may result in it collapsing less frequently - the cause of snoring snoring.

2. It can help keep the lower jaw in an upward position which allows for more airflow through the airway.
The increased space in the airways means breathing will be less restricted which puts less pressure on the soft tissues in the throat which cause snoring.
