Q: Are LightDims permanent?

No, you can peel LightDims off when ever you feel like it. The good news is that LightDims will most likely stick to your electronics for years if you desire and Lightdims will not leave any sticky residue like tape.

Q: Can I layer or double up one on top of another to get an even darker effect?

Yes, however LightDims were carefully designed to block just the right amount of light on the majority of LED's in your electronics.

Q: Do LightDims help to limit radiation from LED's?

Yes. Studies show that low amounts of radiation are emitted from LED's This is a fact. The human eye is extremely sensitive to radiation. At night your pupil is dilated to allow more light in. This dilation of the pupil makes the sensitive parts of your eye extremely susceptible to damage from radiation. It is likely you are surrounded by at least a few radiation emitting LED's during this vulnerable time at night.

Q: Do LightDims work underwater?

As long as the surface you are applying the dim cover to is CLEAN, FLAT, and DRY before you apply it, chances are that when water is applied the dims will continue to stick to the LED even underwater. We tested Lightdims on the inside of a fish-tank and then gently filled the fish-tank with water. They have yet to come off and are working properly.

Q: How much light do the original strength LightDims block?

Original Strength LightDims block approximately 80% of light but unfortunately we cant say for sure because the answer to this question is dependent on the light output of the LED its blocking. Not all LEDs emit the same amount of light, therefore some LightDims may appear darker from one LED to the next.

Q: How much light do Black Out Edition LightDims block?

100% of light for painful LEDs you never want to see again.

About LightDims

Jason Michael Hampton Invented LightDims aka Light Dims out of necessity. Jason also worked in dark edit bays and offices around large amounts of electronics. LEDs are found in nearly every home and office, which inspired Jason to create LightDims as a simple and practical solution. Jason searched for a solution that was both practical and aesthetically pleasing but after searching he realized he would have to create this product himself because it did not exist yet.

The control panel lights were insanely bright in my camper and are in the sleeping area so attracted bugs and the bright light made it impossible to sleep.... The previous owner of my camper covered all the lights with messy sticky electrical tape but it turns out you actually still need to be able to see how full your water tank is, how charged your battery is and also what switches are on.. found these dimming stickers and they’re bloody gold! These Blackout stickers are EXCELLENT I had a small lights on my clock as well as the lights on my multi plug in my bedroom, they used to annoy me because I like everything to be pitch black in my bedroom. It only took three small black out stickers solve the problem immediately. I would highly recommend to use tweezers to place exactly these where you need the stickers to be, That’s what I did and it made it easy to remove from the packaging and to place them exactly where needed. Waste of money

I bought these to cover an LED light in my 6month olds bed room, it has done nothing at all, NOTHING, the light is just as bright, I even tried applying a layer of stickers and again VERY little difference. I really wouldn’t bother wasting your money on this product

Product works really well

The blackout stickers have worked really well on all my products. There is still some light bleed through when you're dealing with multiple led lights on a large product. My only quibble is there were so many tiny circle dots that when I used them they fell off. The big circles and rectangles were great and easy to peel off to check the settings of products and the stuck right back on. I wish there had been more of the larger items. Multiple tiny circles and squares can be stuck over lights you never need to peel off so that is handy. Anything with dust on it was less successful at sticking so give those a wipe and dry beforehand. (Posted on 12/19/21 )

Good for dimming!

Got the three pack that included original dimness and full blackout - I found that the full blackout sticker are a lot stiffer than the original 80% dimmers, so a bit harder to place over things like monitor buttons (those annoying ones that flash) etc. Other than that, very effective, a much better sleep now. Simply brilliant.

Wonderful product, bought the silver edition and the amount of light reduction depends on the colour and intensity of the led in question...

The blue led on my monitor was reduced about 90%, the green ones on my network switch were reduced about 75%, you can still see the light when you look at it but it does not have the glare or intensity anymore, but the real miracle work was on my stereo equipment which has 3 white LEDs that are individually powerful enough to light up the entire room and couldn't be looked at while on, the reduction on these was about half (with a single layer) but again knocked out the glare entirely, I'm impressed given how bright they are to begin with how well these were able to cut the intensity down nicely.

The main reason for 4 stars is these pre cut shapes work best when the LEDs are flush with the surface they are in, if you have something where the LEDs have a rounded top that sticks out a bit from surrounding surface the smaller shapes will not bend or fold to the surface and won't stick very well,so you will need a much larger sticker than the actual led to compensate or an alternative solution if a larger sticker isn't feasible.

I was using it to block out the sleep mode and off indicator of a fan in my room, which for some reason were blinding white LEDs, as well as the LED on my phone's face. Great product

These little stickers work great. The original pack does contain a sticker that fits perfectly over the Sound Oasis screen and has reduced the light to a point that I can use it in the room at night as a clock (and I like really dark rooms). I also got the black out ones for some other items and they also work amazing. Highly recommend this product if you hate the glare from little LED lights! (Posted on 9/26/15 )
