How to use Mack's Earplugs
Reach over head and gently pull up and back on outer ear to straighten ear canal.
Push and twist plug into ear to form an airtight seal. Be careful not to push plug in too far that you are unable to easily grasp it with thumb and forefinger.
To remove, grasp earplug stem with thumb and forefinger and remove slowly with a twisting motion to gradually break the seal.
Tips: If you are having trouble getting the plug to seal, re-insert and wiggle stem while gently pushing plug to form an airtight seal. If you are having trouble inserting the plug, try pointing the tip of the plug slightly forward, toward face, during insertion.

What are the earplugs made of and do they contain latex?
The earplugs are made of pre-molded, non-irritating silicone rubber and do not contain any latex.
Can the earplugs be cleaned?
Yes. The earplugs can be cleaned with mild soap and warm water. Dry thoroughly before re-inserting into ear canal.
Are these earplugs designed to seal out water and reduce noise?
No. These earplugs were specifically designed to provide superior water protection. That is not to say that they cannot be used for noise protection, but the product does not currently carry a Noise Reduction Rating, nor does it make any claims that it is designed to be used for hearing protection.
Are there any application tips to help me get an airtight/watertight seal with the earplugs?
First try re-inserting after carefully re-reading the directions. If you still have trouble getting the earplug to seal, re-insert and wiggle the stem while gently pushing the earplug to form a waterproof seal. If you are still having trouble inserting the earplug into the ear canal, try inserting it with the tip pointed slightly forward toward your face. A sign that the earplug is sealing properly is that your own voice will sound more internal and exaggerated. Another way to check that you have a proper seal is to grip the stem of the plug and wiggle it (ever so slightly) in and out. A properly sealed plug will create a slight suction effect.
After a doctor inserts ear tubes, is it O.K. to use a flanged style earplug like this to keep out water, thus helping prevent infection?
We do not recommend this type of plug while wearing ear tubes. Since flanged earplugs are inserted into the ear canal, we recommend that they only be used by those without pre-existing ear health conditions. Use Mack’s® Pillow Soft® moldable silicone earplugs while wearing tubes as they seal the ear without penetrating the ear canal. Consult an E.N.T. (ear, nose, and throat doctor) to see if they are safe to use for your particular case. If the earplugs are corded, be sure to remove the cord before water activities.
Can these earplugs be used on children?
We recommend you consult an E.N.T. (ear, nose, and throat doctor) so that they can help you determine if the earplugs are safe for your particular application. While these earplugs were designed for older kids and adults, doctors and parents have used the flanged earplugs on kids as young as 7 years of age. We recommend using the Mack’s® Kids Size Pillow Soft moldable silicone earplugs for children 6 and under. In most cases, it will simply depend on the size of the individual’s ear canals. Usage should always be supervised by an adult and the plug should only be used if it can be fit comfortably and effectively to the ear canal. *See Warning Below.*
Warning: Keep away from infants and small children. These earplugs are non-toxic, but may interfere with breathing if caught in windpipe, which could lead to serious injury or death.

I am veteran lap swimmer, and someone who has suffered from 'swimmers ear' (chronic ear infection from repeated water in ears). Over the years I have tried various earplug brand and types ( silicon, putty and foam). By accident I discovered Macks Aquablock earplugs in Thailand, and found they outperform every other silicon ear plug I have used. Absolutely nil water gets past the seals and they have never fallen out on me, and this includes ocean body surfing in waves! Another thing that makes them a stand out for me is the handle is long and has grips on it - so even if you accidentally push them into your ear a bit far, they can easily be removed. Another well known brand of silicon earplugs I have used only have a short handle and no grips on the handle - and they have got stuck, resulting in them removal by long nose pliers because I just couldn't get my fingers around them enough to remove! The Macks also a triple seals and are super soft - more comfortable than anything else I have tried. It's hard to think how this product could be improved on. I suggest to anyone buying them, to get the coloured ones as the clear type are hard to find if you drop them in a pool.

I use these at night so I can sleep better. The ends are too long to be comfortable with your head against the pillow so I trim them to suit. Work perfectly.
