How to Use the Thermometer

Instructions

• To turn on, press the mem button briefly.
• All symbols are displayed on LCD when started. When ready symbol ( - - . - ) shows on the display, the thermometer is ready to use.
• Press and hold the scan button then place the probe flat and firmly on the forehead.
• Slowly slide the probe midline across the forehead to the hairline keeping the instrument flat and in contact with skin.
• The unit beeps one time (1) per second, the final beep only occurs after the scan button is released, the thermometer should remain in contact with the skin once the scan button is released until the final beep is heard.
• Read the temperature on the display.

Q: How do I get the best results from my thermometer?
A: Perspiration can affect the reading and therefore the forehead should be clean and dry. The child should also remain still whilst taking the temperature, so it is best to ensure they are calm and relaxed. This can sometimes be a challenge, and therefore the temperature can be taken whilst the child is asleep.

• It is imperative that the temperature is measured as described in the instruction manual. For the NFS100, the thermometer needs to make clear and constant contact with the forehead whilst being rubbed from the temple to the centre of the forehead, or vice versa, in slow, steady motion.
• In addition, the thermometer should be used when at room temperature. If stored in a colder, or warmer, location the thermometer needs to be left to adjust to the room temperature to ensure the reading is accurate.

Q: How do I change the temperature mode from Celsius to Fahrenheit or Fahrenheit to Celsius?
A: To change from Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice versa. Press and hold the memory (MEM) button then the scan button at the same time for 2 seconds.

The sensor is a very sensitive part and easily damaged. For accurate measurement please keep the sensor clean. To clean the sensor, please keep it facing down and carefully clean with an alcohol moistened cotton bud, allow it to dry for at least one hour before using. To clean the outside use a cloth moistened with alcohol or water.
