How to Use the Thermometer

Instructions

Temperature readings may vary according to the location of measurement from the forehead to the temple. Therefore we recommend measuring the temperature at more than 2 points on the forehead.

• To turn on, press the Start button briefly.
• The device always starts in body temperature mode.
• Hold the thermometer 2 to 3 cm from the measuring point. The ideal measuring point is the temple area.
• Press the start button briefly. Keep the distance until you hear the measurement completion beep. If the thermometer is in silent mode, keep the distance for approximately 2 seconds.
• Read the temperature on the display.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I get the best results from my thermometer?
A: Perspiration can affect the reading and therefore the forehead should be clean and dry. The child should also remain still whilst taking the temperature, so it is best to ensure they are calm and relaxed. This can sometimes be a challenge, and therefore the temperature can be taken whilst the child is asleep. The temperature should not be taken directly after exercise (or a tantrum) as the body temperature may be elevated due to exertion.

The FS300 thermometer should be operated at temperature approx. 15°c to 40°c, this is the spectrum at which this infrared thermometer is calibrated to be accurate.

Q: What is the Operational Temperature Range?
A: The FS300 thermometer is designed to offer a versatile measurement solution and gives both body temperature measurement (between 34°c to 42.5°c) and room temperature measurement (between 15°c to 40°c).

If the thermometer is stored in a cool room i.e. a bathroom the thermometer should be placed in a room 15°c or higher for 25 - 30 mins before taking the reading.

The sensor is a very sensitive part and easily damaged. For accurate measurement please keep the sensor clean. To clean the sensor, please keep it facing down and carefully clean with an alcohol moistened cotton bud, allow it to dry for at least one hour before using it. To clean the outside use a cloth moistened with alcohol or water.
