The inflating mouthpiece has a special valve to prevent air loss. When inflating, open the mouthpiece by squeezing it with your teeth or fingers. When deflating, squeeze the mouthpiece while flattening the cushion.

Excellent for lumbar support if not fully inflated.
Have been using for years at home- not just for travel. Recently deflated without obvious cause so definitely buying another. pronto.

I am so impressed with this pillow that I have now bought three. It is very portable, and, if fully inflated, will be a full-sized pillow or, if partially inflated, will fold into any convenient shape. I can't live without them, as I have a bad back and hate most chairs.
