A woodland floor, gathered into a pattern
Woodland Weeds packs daisies, tulips and cornflowers together with scrolling stems, the way small plants crowd together underfoot on a walk through the woods. The set works in shades of gold and soft sage over a warm blue base, which gives the busy print depth rather than noise.
From the Morris & Co. archive
The design was first printed in 1905 and belongs to the millefleurs tradition, where dozens of small flowers fill the surface evenly. It's unusually neat and upright for a pattern from the Morris workshop, which is part of why it reads so calmly on a bed.
