When to Use ANDATECH GT FUEL CELL BREATHALYSER

Here is exactly when you should use it:

The Golden Rule: 20 Minutes After Your Last Drink

This is the most critical rule. You must wait at least 20 minutes after eating, smoking, or drinking alcohol before blowing into the device.

  • Why? If you test immediately after a sip, the device measures "mouth alcohol" (alcohol residue in your saliva) rather than the alcohol in your bloodstream. This can result in a dangerously false high reading and can actually permanently damage the sensor due to the high concentration of alcohol vapor.

The "Morning After" (Crucial for Safety)

You should use the breathalyser the morning after a night of heavy drinking.

  • Why? Alcohol metabolizes slowly. You might wake up feeling "fine" or just a bit groggy, but your BAC could still be over the legal limit (0.05% or 0.02% depending on your license). This is one of the most common ways people get caught for drink driving.

If Your Result is Close to the Limit

If you test yourself and the result is close to the legal limit (e.g., 0.045% to 0.055%), do not drive.

  • Why? Alcohol levels can continue to rise for up to 2 hours after you stop drinking as your body absorbs the alcohol from your stomach. A "safe" reading now could be an illegal reading 20 minutes later. In this scenario, wait another 20 minutes and re-test to see if your levels are dropping or rising.

After Using Mouthwash or Medicines

Wait 15–20 minutes after using mouthwash, breath spray, or cough syrup.

  • Why? Many of these products contain alcohol. Even if you haven't been drinking beverages, the residual alcohol from mouthwash can trigger a positive reading on the sensitive fuel cell sensor.

How to Use

The device features One-Touch Operation for simplicity:

  • Step 1: Press the power button to switch on the breathalyser. The Andatech logo will display during startup, followed by the previous test result.
  • Step 2: Wait a few seconds while the breathalyser warms up to prepare for the test.
  • Step 3: “BLOW” will display on the screen when the breathalyser is ready to take a test. Insert a mouthpiece into the breathalyser’s mouthpiece slot. Blow steadily into the mouthpiece for more than 3 seconds to take a test.
  • Step 4: The sampled breath will be analysed to measure the blood alcohol concentration.
  • Step 5: The alcohol breath test result will be displayed for 10 seconds.
