About Bambi (Bambi Enterprises)

Oricom is an expert Australian technology company that has become a household name by mastering two distinct but vital categories: Baby Care and UHF CB Communication. Founded in 2003 and 100% Australian-owned, Oricom is best known among parents for its high-quality video and audio baby monitors, specifically its partnership with Babysense. While many tech brands treat baby monitors as gadgets, Oricom treats them as safety devices, offering the peace of mind that comes with medical-grade reliability.

Beyond the nursery, Oricom is also a market leader in UHF CB radios, keeping 4WD enthusiasts, truckies, and rural families connected in the most remote parts of the Australian outback. This dual expertise in "keeping people connected" defines the brand's reputation for durability and superior range.

Mission, Vision & Innovation

Oricom’s mission is to "keep you connected to what matters most," whether that is a sleeping newborn or a convoy of vehicles on a dirt track. Their vision is to provide accessible, high-quality technology backed by local Australian support. A key innovation in their baby care range is the Babysense Breathing Movement Monitor. Unlike standard cameras that only show video, the Babysense system utilizes sensitive sensor pads placed under the mattress to detect the micro-movements of a baby's breathing.

If breathing stops or slows irregularly, an alarm sounds. This technology is included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as a medical device, offering a level of safety validation that standard consumer video monitors cannot match.

Sleep Solutions is NDIS Registered and Approved

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Babysense and a Video Monitor?
  • Video Monitor (Secure Range): Allows you to see and hear the baby. You can watch them sleep, but you have to be looking at the screen to know if something is wrong.
  • Babysense (Breathing Monitor): A "blind" system that uses sensor pads under the mattress to feel the baby's chest movement. It actively monitors for breathing irregularities and alarms you if movement stops for 20 seconds.
  • Note: Oricom sells these separately or in "Value Packs" containing both.
Is the Babysense monitor TGA approved?

Yes. The Oricom Babysense7 is included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as a medical device. This certification means it has undergone rigorous testing for efficacy and safety, distinguishing it from the many "wearable" consumer baby gadgets that are not certified medical devices.

Can I add more cameras to my Oricom monitor?

Yes. Most of the Oricom Secure video monitor range (e.g., Secure710, Secure870) features Multi-Camera Capability. You can usually pair up to four cameras to a single parent unit. This is ideal for families with twins or children in different rooms, allowing you to cycle through the views or use "Split Screen" mode (depending on the model).

What is DECT technology?

Oricom audio monitors utilize DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology. This ensures crystal clear sound with zero interference from other household devices like Wi-Fi routers or microwaves. Crucially, it provides a secure, encrypted connection so that neighbors or scanners cannot listen in on your nursery.

Does Oricom make radios for non-truck drivers?

Yes. While they are famous for their in-car UHF radios, Oricom also produces a wide range of Handheld UHF Radios (Walkie Talkies). These are popular for families camping, hiking, or keeping in touch on large properties where mobile phone reception is poor. They are rugged, easy to use, and compatible with all standard Australian UHF channels.
