Excellent product, excellent customer service and very fast delivery. I will say, however, that I find the headhand too hot at the moment. This can't really be helped. But if you tend to run hot or get hot flushes, consider this.
We couldn't believe how fast the electric blankets got here from Sydney. Just 3 days by Australia post to Toowoomba. The products have all the features we wanted as well.
They were very helpful when placing an NDIS order and fast.
Found the website easy to use and order what I needed Delivery was very quick Will be ordering again
Was very keen to try this but so hard to as hubby not like it. Tried with earplugs but the cable was annoying
Have been travelling with the pillow and highly recommend
I was unsure how this product would work but have been amazed at the change in my breathing/sleeping pattern. So thank you Sleep Solutions I am thrilled with this air purifier and the speed in which it was delivered to me.
Great service and quick delivery. Range of Mack's earplugs you can't get in stores here. The ultra soft ones are the winner.
Check out our range of travel pillows - from inflatable, memory foam, neck pillows, to compact travelling pillows - there is one to suit your needs.
In short, anyone who travels! Whether you're someone who hits the snooze button on long car rides, a jet-setter flying to new countries, or even just chilling in the backseat on family road trips, a travel pillow is a game-changer.
Sleep Solutions is NDIS Registered and Approved
Whether you're crossing time zones or crossing the country, the right travel pillow is the difference between arriving refreshed and arriving exhausted.
A good travel pillow prevents the head-bobbing cycle that disrupts sleep on planes and in cars, while a compact sleeping pillow can replace unreliable hotel pillows entirely. This guide breaks down the different types, explains how to wear them correctly, and helps match the right style to different travel situations.
The most common mistake with travel neck pillows is wearing them incorrectly. A U-shaped neck pillow can be positioned in multiple ways depending on the type of support needed. Tap each diagram below to learn more.
The rotation trick: Many U-shaped neck pillows can be rotated 180° so the thickest section sits under the chin rather than behind the neck. This prevents the head from dropping forward during sleep - the most common cause of the "head bob" wake-up cycle on long flights. This works best with memory foam pillows that have raised side walls, such as the Cabeau Evolution S3.
Seat strap attachment: Some neck pillows include straps that wrap around the headrest posts of a plane, car, or office seat. This locks the pillow against the seat back so it stays in position even during deep sleep - eliminating the problem of the pillow shifting or falling off. The Cabeau S3 range features this system. For seats without exposed headrest posts, the straps can typically be wrapped around the full width of the seat back instead.

Memory foam neck pillow with seat strap. Firm support matters most on overnight flights. Rotate the opening to front for chin support, or strap to the headrest to prevent slippage. Pair with ear plugs and a sleep mask for the best chance of real sleep.
Inflatable neck pillow. Packs flat, weighs next to nothing, and adjustable firmness suits different seats and sleeping positions. Worth the trade-off in support for the space and weight saving over multi-week trips.
Memory foam neck pillow for passenger sleeping - the car seat headrest provides rear support, so a pillow with raised sides prevents the head from dropping sideways. Add an inflatable lumbar pillow behind the lower back for driver comfort on long stretches.
Compact sleeping pillow (contoured or standard). Use in transit, then replace the hotel pillow at your destination. Ideal for business travellers, people with neck conditions, or anyone who sleeps better on a familiar pillow.
Inflatable or compact memory foam. Inflatable pillows double as a camp pillow with zero pack weight. Memory foam compacts like a sleeping bag stuff sack. A travel blanket completes the camp sleep kit.
Premium memory foam neck pillow with washable cover + a compact sleeping pillow for hotels. Worth investing in quality - the cost per use drops quickly with frequent travel, and consistent sleep quality reduces jet lag impact.
Hotel pillow replacement: Compact memory foam or contoured travel pillows - such as the Flexi Pillow Harmony Travel, Dunlopillo Therapillo Travel, or Sheridan Deluxe Memory Foam Travel Pillow - serve double duty. They can be used as neck support in transit, then placed on top of (or instead of) hotel pillows at the destination. Particularly useful for people with neck conditions who need consistent pillow support night to night.
Travel pillows fall into five categories, each designed for different situations and priorities. The table below gives you a quick comparison before we dive into the detail.
| Type | Fill / Material | Pack Size | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Memory Foam Neck Pillow | Solid or shredded memory foam | Compresses to ~50% - clips to bag | Long-haul flights, firm neck support, premium comfort |
| Inflatable Neck Pillow | Air (TPU or PVC bladder) | Folds flat - pocket-sized | Backpackers, ultralight travel, adjustable firmness |
| Forward-Lean / Face Cradle | Foam or inflatable | Moderate | Front-sleepers, tray-table leaning, multi-position use |
| Compact Sleeping Pillow | Memory foam or microfibre fill | Rolls into travel bag | Hotel pillow replacement, camping, multi-night trips |
| Lumbar / Back Support | Inflatable (air bladder) | Folds flat - pocket-sized | Lower back support on flights, car travel, office chairs |
Each travel pillow type excels in different areas. Here's what you need to know about each one.
The most popular type for long-haul flights. Solid memory foam moulds to the contours of the neck and holds its shape, providing consistent support over many hours. Raised side walls prevent the head from falling sideways. Most compress into a travel bag or clip to the outside of a backpack.
Available in U-shaped, wrap-around, and asymmetric designs. Some models like the OstrichPillow Go feature one higher and one lower side for adjustable lateral support.
The lightest and most packable option. A quality inflatable fills in 3-5 breaths and deflates in seconds, folding flat to book-size or smaller. Firmness is adjustable by varying inflation. Less contouring than memory foam - but for backpackers and ultralight travellers, the weight saving is significant.
The Woollip is a popular inflatable design inspired by massage chairs that supports the head and upper body in multiple positions.
Designed for people who prefer to sleep leaning forward. These sit on the tray table or lap and support the face and chest - similar to a massage table cradle. The Face Cradle and Face Cradle Wanderlust Lite offer up to 5 configurations.
Less practical for road trips, but excellent for plane and train travel where a tray table is available.
Not a neck pillow at all - a small standard or contoured pillow designed for travel. Rolls or folds into a carry bag and is used like a regular bed pillow. Available in contoured memory foam (Flexi Pillow Harmony Travel, Dunlopillo Therapillo Travel, Sheridan Deluxe) and standard microfibre fill (SheerBliss Luxury).
For travellers who dislike hotel pillows or have neck issues, a compact pillow can be a better solution than any neck-style option. The Bucky 2-in-1 combines a compact pillow with a travel blanket.
Lumbar & Back Support Pillows: A different category to neck pillows, but equally important. Inflatable back pillows from Korjo and Edge sit behind the lower back to maintain the lumbar curve during long flights or car journeys. They prevent the slouching that leads to lower back pain and stiffness on arrival. Lightweight, inflatable, and pocket-sized when deflated - easy to carry alongside a neck pillow for full upper-body support.
Smart packing makes the difference between a convenient travel pillow and one that stays at home.
Most memory foam travel pillows include a snap or carabiner loop - clip the compressed pillow to the outside of a carry-on bag or backpack. This saves internal packing space and keeps the pillow accessible at the gate.
Memory foam pillows compressed in a travel bag need a few minutes to expand. Take the pillow out during boarding or while waiting at the gate - by cruising altitude, it'll be fully expanded and ready.
Deflated inflatable pillows are essentially flat pouches and pass through screening without question. They can also be inflated using the overhead air nozzle on most aircraft.
If the pillow is primarily for hotel use rather than in-flight, pack it in checked luggage to keep carry-on space free. Most roll down to roughly the size of a water bottle.

Consider your travel style and personal comfort preferences. If you tend to sleep upright, a neck pillow might be ideal. For side sleepers, a more traditional or contoured pillow could provide better support. Material is another factor – memory foam offers firm support and molds to your shape, while inflatable pillows are adjustable and save space. Lastly, think about portability and how easy it is to carry the pillow with your luggage.
Absolutely! While designed for travel, these pillows are versatile enough for use at home or in the office too. Whether you're lounging on the couch, reading in bed, or need extra support while working at your desk, a travel pillow can provide the comfort and support your neck and head need.
Most travel pillows come with a removable and washable cover, making it easy to keep them clean. For the pillow itself, it’s important to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Many can be spot cleaned with a mild detergent, while others may allow for machine wash. Regular cleaning helps maintain hygiene and extends the life of your pillow.
Memory foam neck pillows like the Cabeau Evolution S3 and Travelrest Nest are top-rated for long-haul flights. They provide firm neck support that prevents your head from falling forward, and compress small enough for carry-on luggage.
Inflatable pillows are lighter and more packable, ideal for backpackers. Memory foam pillows offer superior neck support and comfort for long flights. If space is your priority, go inflatable. If comfort is, go memory foam.
