Blueair Air Purifiers are the US leading premium air cleaner brand

Now available in Australia, Blueair has local support and come with a 5 year warranty. Read our customer's Blueair reviews and see what they thought.

Why choose Blueair?

Blueair Air Purifiers feature near silent operation, featuring HEPASilent filter technology that removes 99.97% of particles - down to 0.1 microns (3 x greater than standard HEPA filters) - filtering pollen, dust and dust mites, mould. allergens, and even viruses, bacteria and exhaust particles.

If you think you are safe from pollution in your home, think again. The air inside our homes is up to 5 times more polluted than on the street - and we spend about 90% of our time indoors. Our homes contain everything from dust, cooking fumes and chemicals released from paint, furniture and cleaning agents. Add to that polluted outdoor air making its way into our homes through ventilation (and you've got a cocktail of toxins floating around between your four walls).

Good news is you can easily improve your indoor air. Ensure good ventilation, vacuum often, avoid unnecessary chemicals and put an air purifier in the rooms where you spend most of your time. Thanks to unique HEPASilent™ filtration technology our air purifiers remove 99.97% of all airborne particles including dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke, bacteria, and virus.

Better air, better health

Clean air has proven positive health benefits. It can provide asthma and allergy relief, prevent sickness from bacteria and viruses, and help us sleep better which in turn boosts our immune system. Clean air even makes us smarter according to research.

Blueair's HEPASilent technology's filtration performance is equivalent to HEPA H13 class.

It means that Blueair devices not only capture bacteria & viruses, but also kill & inactivate them inside the machine, hence ensuring no secondary pollution when replacing filter.

Blueair Reduces 99.9998% airborne SARs-CoV-2 in Testing

Efficacy Laboratory testing at MRIGlobal has shown HEPASiltent filtration technology showed a reduction of greater than 99.998% in the of SARS-CoV-2 viable viral aerosol. (See full results of the testing here)

We deliver Australia-wide including: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Gold Coast, Central Coast, and Cairns and all other metro and urban areas.

About Blueair

Blueair is a premium, award-winning Swedish brand that has been at the forefront of the global indoor air purification industry since 1996. Founded by Bengt Rittri with the goal of ensuring his children could breathe the same clean, fresh air indoors as they did in the Swedish countryside, the brand is now globally recognized for its exceptional performance and sleek, minimalist Scandinavian design. Acquired by Unilever in 2016, Blueair continues to dominate the premium market, heavily recommended by allergists and asthma specialists.

From their vibrant, user-friendly Blue Pure line to the highly advanced, clinical-grade HealthProtect and DustMagnet series, Blueair sets the standard for quiet, energy-efficient, and highly effective air cleaning.

Mission, Vision & Innovation

Blueair operates on the core belief and mission that "> access to clean air is a basic human right." Their vision is to improve the health and well-being of people everywhere by engineering the best clean air solutions in the world without compromising on design or the environment. The absolute cornerstone of the brand is their proprietary HEPASilent™ Technology.

Traditional air purifiers rely solely on mechanical HEPA filters, which must be extremely dense to catch small particles, requiring loud, energy-draining fans to push the air through. Blueair's innovation combines mechanical filtration with electrostatic charging. Particles are given an electrical charge before reaching the filter, making them "stick" to the filter fibers effortlessly. This allows Blueair to use less dense filters, resulting in a higher delivery of clean air, whisper-quiet operation, and significantly lower energy consumption.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is HEPASilent™ technology and why does it matter?

HEPASilent™ is Blueair's proprietary and patented two-stage filtration system that combines electrostatic charging with mechanical filtration. Air entering the unit passes through a particle-charging chamber where particles are given an electrostatic charge, making them significantly easier for the filter media to capture. The charged particles then pass through the mechanical filter, which traps them with exceptional efficiency. This dual-stage process allows Blueair to capture 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 microns — three times smaller than what standard HEPA filters are tested against — while running at lower fan speeds, which means less noise and less energy consumption than comparable single-stage HEPA purifiers.

What is Blueair's GermShield™ technology in the HealthProtect range?

GermShield™ is a patent-pending feature found in Blueair's HealthProtect series that actively monitors room conditions even when the purifier is on standby. Rather than waiting to be switched on, GermShield uses the unit's integrated sensors to detect conditions — particularly combinations of temperature and humidity — that are favourable for viral and bacterial growth, and automatically activates to address them. It also uses plasma charging to kill at least 95% of existing viruses and bacteria on the filter and interior surfaces of the unit while on standby, and uses a low air draft to dry out the filter and prevent germ growth inside the machine itself.

How do I choose the right Blueair model for my room?

All Blueair air purifiers in the range clean to the same standard — the key variable when selecting a model is room size coverage, not performance quality. Each model is rated for a specific room area based on five air changes per hour, so the primary question is simply the size of the space you want to purify. Smaller, compact models like the Classic 205 and Blue series suit bedrooms and smaller rooms, while larger models like the Classic 480i, Classic 680i, and Blue Extension 3610 cover medium to large living spaces. Additional considerations are feature set — manual control, auto mode, Wi-Fi connectivity, integrated air quality sensors, and smart home compatibility — which vary by model.

Are Blueair purifiers suitable for people with asthma and allergies?

Yes — multiple Blueair models are recommended by asthma and allergy associations for people with these conditions, including the Classic 480i and Classic 680i, which carry association endorsements for asthma and allergy suitability. Blueair's HEPASilent™ filtration captures pollen, dust and dust mites, mould spores, pet dander, bacteria, and viruses — the primary indoor allergens and irritants that trigger asthma and allergy symptoms. Blueair purifiers emit zero ozone as a by-product — in fact, they actively reduce ozone levels in the air — which is an important consideration for those with respiratory sensitivities, as ozone is itself a respiratory irritant.

Why would I need a Blueair air purifier?

If you're considering the Blueair Air Purifier brand for your home, here's why it's a compelling choice:

  • Founded in Sweden in 1996, the brand is known for combining high-performance filtration with sleek Scandinavian design.
  • Their proprietary HEPASilent™ technology blends mechanical filtration with electrostatic charging to trap airborne particles more efficiently, while also operating quietly and using less energy.
  • Their units have been awarded certifications for allergy and asthma-friendly performance, providing peace of mind if you or someone in your household has sensitivities.
  • Safety and emissions are prioritised, with Blueair stating that its purifiers meet ozone emission standards to avoid unwanted by-products.

In short: if you want a trusted brand that balances performance, design, and indoor-air health credentials, Blueair is a strong pick.

How often should I replace or clean filters in Blueair air purifiers?

It depends on the model and how heavily you use it, but in general the filters should be checked every few months and replaced (or cleaned if washable) every 6–12 months for optimal performance.

Some newer models have filter indicator lights or app notifications to tell you when to change filters.

How to reset Blueair filter light

To reset the filter-light indicator on a Blueair air purifier after replacing the filter:

  • Turn the unit on (make sure it's plugged in and running).
  • Press and hold the filter-reset or Fan button (or the Filter Replacement button) for about 7–15 seconds (Different units need different times)
  • Release the button when the indicator light goes off (or completes its blinking cycle) - that confirms the timer is reset.
  • If the red light remains on:
    • Unplug the unit for a few minutes and plug it back in.
    • Ensure the new filter is installed correctly and seated properly.

Note: Always refer to the user manual for your specific model as procedures may vary slightly by series.

What is CADR, and why is it relevant?

CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate. It is a standardized metric that describes how much filtered air an air purifier can deliver per unit time (for example, for dust, pollen, and smoke). A higher CADR generally means faster or more effective cleaning in a space. It helps you match an air purifier to the size of the room you want to treat.

Are Blueair products safe to run continuously?

Yes, many Ionmax units are designed to run continuously. They often include features like timers, speed management, and safety protections.

It is generally safe, provided you follow the user manual, maintain filter cleanliness, and ensure adequate ventilation.

Are Blueair air purifiers silent in the bedroom?

Yes - generally the Blueair air purifiers are quiet enough for bedroom use, especially when set to a low or "sleep/night" fan mode.
