Easy to order quick delivery and very happy with product.
Item deliverd fast
Excellent product, excellent customer service and very fast delivery. I will say, however, that I find the headhand too hot at the moment. This can't really be helped. But if you tend to run hot or get hot flushes, consider this.
We couldn't believe how fast the electric blankets got here from Sydney. Just 3 days by Australia post to Toowoomba. The products have all the features we wanted as well.
They were very helpful when placing an NDIS order and fast.
Found the website easy to use and order what I needed Delivery was very quick Will be ordering again
Was very keen to try this but so hard to as hubby not like it. Tried with earplugs but the cable was annoying
Have been travelling with the pillow and highly recommend
The unique properties of memory foam allow these pillows to conform gently and gradually to the contours of your head and neck, providing exquisite comfort and the proper support for restorative sleep.
Memory foam helps to reduce pressure points and cushion your body, and automatically adjusts to your weight and temperature.
Sleep Solutions is NDIS Registered and Approved
What memory foam actually does, the different types available, how to choose the right profile - and why it's worth upgrading from a fibre-fill pillow.
Memory foam is a heat-sensitive material that softens and moulds to your exact head and neck shape when you lie down, then slowly returns to its original form when you get up. Instead of pushing back against you like a regular pillow, it shapes around you - spreading weight across a wider area and reducing pressure on your neck, shoulders, and jaw.
Originally developed by NASA in the 1960s for aircraft cushioning, memory foam became a consumer bedding material in the 1990s and is now one of the most popular pillow types in Australia. For a broader overview of all pillow types and materials, see the Australian Pillow Buying Guide.
The shape and construction affect how a memory foam pillow feels, how warm it sleeps, and how well it suits different positions. Select a type below to learn more.
Consistent support
Wave shape, cervical support
Adjustable loft, cooler sleep
Heat-dispersing gel beads
Solid Memory Foam (Classic)A single block of foam shaped like a traditional pillow. Offers the most consistent, even support - it moulds slowly under your head creating a personalised cradle each night. Holds its shape well and won't develop lumps, but has less airflow than ventilated or shredded designs.
Best for: Consistent, firm-yet-cradling support. Sleepers who don't move much at night.
Available from: Dunlopillo Therapillo, Bambi Bravo, Bambi Encore
Contoured Memory FoamSolid foam cut into a wave shape with raised lobes and a recessed centre. The lobe supports your neck while the dip cradles your head, keeping the spine aligned. Many models have dual-height lobes so you can flip for a different profile. This is the shape most recommended by physiotherapists - Dunlopillo Therapillo contoured pillows are endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
Best for: Side and back sleepers, neck pain, targeted cervical support.
Available from: Dunlopillo Therapillo Contoured, Flexi Pillow Relief, Flexi Alleve, Flexi Gel Adjustable, Dreamaker Contoured Ventilated. See the Contoured Pillow Buying Guide for more.
Shredded Memory FoamThe foam is shredded into small pieces and loosely packed inside a cover - creating a pillow that feels softer and more "squishable," closer to a traditional fibre pillow. The gaps between pieces allow better airflow, so it sleeps cooler. Some models let you unzip and adjust the fill level for a custom height and firmness.
Best for: People transitioning from fibre pillows, stomach sleepers, anyone wanting adjustable loft.
Available from: Bambi Chipped My Memory Foam Adjustable, ESSN Cooling Gel Shredded, Tontine Comfortech Memory Foam with Bamboo Cover
Cooling Gel Memory FoamStandard memory foam with gel beads or a gel layer infused into the foam. The gel absorbs and disperses heat faster, giving a noticeably cooler sleeping surface. Support and moulding feel identical to regular memory foam - the only difference is temperature.
Best for: Hot sleepers, warmer climates, night sweats.
Available from: Dunlopillo Therapillo Cooling Gel, Flexi Gel Adjustable Contoured, Bambi Encore Cooltouch, Moonshadow Thermocool, Ardor Home Contoured Cooling
Profile height is the most important decision - more than brand or gel infusion. Too high and your neck bends awkwardly; too low and your head sags. The right height depends on sleeping position, shoulder width, and mattress firmness.
Select your build and sleeping position for a personalised recommendation.
A softer mattress lets your shoulder sink deeper (especially side sleepers), reducing the gap your pillow needs to fill. If you recently switched to a softer mattress, you may need a lower profile - and vice versa.
Both are popular support-focused materials, but they feel quite different. Neither is objectively better - it depends on what you value most. For more on latex, see the Australian Pillow Buying Guide.
Softens with heat and moulds precisely to your shape.
Trade-offs: Sleeps warmer. Slow to bounce back. 3-5 year lifespan. Needs airing when new.
Price: $59 - $300
Supports with a buoyant, bouncy feel from rubber tree sap.
Trade-offs: Less precise moulding. Firmer feel some find too "bouncy." Fewer shape options.
Price: $99 - $120
Want that "melting into the pillow" feeling with specific sore spots? Memory foam. Sleep hot, change positions a lot, or want double the lifespan? Latex.
Most Australians grow up on polyester fibre-fill pillows - cheap and familiar, but they flatten and clump within months. You end up folding them in half, stacking two together, or just tolerating poor support. A memory foam pillow holds its shape for years and provides consistent support every night without fluffing or restacking.
Lasts 1 year before flattening
5 replacements over 3 years = $130-$175
Inconsistent support as fill compresses
Lasts 5 years with consistent support
One purchase covers the period = $110
Same support on night 1 and night 1,000
The brands in our range - Dunlopillo, Flexi Pillow, Bambi, Dreamaker, Moonshadow, Ardor Home, and Tontine - are designed for the Australian market. Dunlopillo's Therapillo range is the only pillow endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association and carries a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
If you've been sleeping on fibre or feather for years, memory foam will feel noticeably different at first - firmer, more structured, and slower to respond. This is normal. Give it 5 to 7 nights before deciding. Most people find the first couple of nights are the strangest, and by the end of the week the new feel becomes comfortable. Mild morning stiffness in the first 2-3 days is common as muscles adjust to proper alignment.
Every memory foam pillow also needs to be aired before first use. When foam is sealed in packaging it develops a chemical-like smell (off-gassing) - harmless but unpleasant. Here's what to do and what to expect:
Take the pillow out of its plastic and remove the outer cover. Let the bare foam breathe.
Place in a well-ventilated room near an open window. Most smell dissipates within 24 hours.
A slight yellow tint is the natural colour of memory foam - not a sign of age or defect. It won't affect performance.
Tiny burst bubbles or surface imperfections are normal manufacturing characteristics with no impact on feel or durability.
The profile height - not the foam - is likely the issue. Try the other side of a contoured pillow, or adjust fill in a shredded model, before writing it off.

Yes. Memory foam contours to the shape of your head and neck, providing consistent support that helps maintain spinal alignment. Contoured memory foam pillows with a cervical curve are particularly effective for neck pain and stiffness.
Quality memory foam pillows typically last 2-3 years with regular use. Signs it's time to replace yours include visible sagging, loss of support, or waking up with neck stiffness. Premium brands like Dunlopillo may last longer due to higher-density foam.
For support and durability - yes. Memory foam moulds to your head and neck, providing consistent support that doesn't flatten or clump over time. A polyester fibre pillow feels soft at first but compresses within months, leaving you with inconsistent height and poor neck support. If you experience morning neck stiffness or find yourself restacking pillows during the night, memory foam is a meaningful upgrade. That said, if you prefer a soft, "squishy" feel over structured support, a shredded memory foam pillow is a good middle ground.
It depends primarily on your sleeping position and body frame. Side sleepers generally need medium to high profiles because of the wider gap between shoulder and ear. Back sleepers usually suit low to medium. Stomach sleepers need the lowest profile available. If you have broader shoulders, go one step higher; if your mattress is soft (letting your shoulder sink in), you may need one step lower. A shredded or adjustable model lets you fine-tune the height at home.
Never put a memory foam pillow in the washing machine or dryer - water and agitation will break down the foam structure. Most memory foam pillows come with a removable, machine-washable cover, which is the part you clean regularly. For the foam itself, spot clean with a damp cloth if needed. Between washes, airing the pillow in a ventilated room once a month helps keep it fresh.
The support and moulding feel is identical - the only meaningful difference is temperature. Gel memory foam has cooling gel beads infused into (or layered onto) the foam, which absorb and disperse heat faster than standard foam. If you sleep hot or live in a warmer climate, gel-infused options from Dunlopillo, Flexi Pillow, and Bambi can make a noticeable difference, especially during the first hour as you fall asleep.
Memory foam is one of the best materials for side sleeping. Side sleepers put more pressure on the pillow (the weight of the head is concentrated on a smaller area), and memory foam distributes that pressure evenly - reducing pressure on the ear and jaw. The key is getting the right height: you need a medium or high profile to fill the gap between your shoulder and ear. A contoured memory foam pillow with a raised lobe is the most popular choice for side sleepers in our range.
